CONTINUING FLASH'S CAREER UNDER SADDLE

Hi Christie and Matthew,

Well, as you know I have ridden Flash another twice, yesterday evening and
this morning.

Yesterday evening Flash was calm and interested as I mounted. Christie stood
by his head for Flash's moral support, although he is confident about having
me get on and off him. His balance improves steadily under saddle at each
ride. With Christie walking at his shoulder, Flash and I walked around the
arena, changed rein across the diagonal a few times halted and walked off
several times and finished the session with lots of praise for his efforts.

This morning I mounted Flash with Christie standing a little further away,
then rode him in the arena with Christie gradually getting further away,
until I was riding him without her beside him. By that stage he understood
my aids to go forward, turn and halt. We worked for a little longer and I
progressively asked a little more from Flash and he was soon working in a
nice soft, round frame in walk for a short period. I am very pleased with
his responsiveness and willingness.
