FIRST OUTING UNDER SADDLE!

Hi Christie and Matthew,

As you know, this morning we took Flash out for a little ride down the road
with Percy and Rocky, two other STB's. For those not acquainted with my
area. There is very little traffic (none much of the time) and any
aproaching vehicles can be heard a long way off, allowing plenty of time to
get off side of the road. It had been raining here and the paddocks and
riding trails were quite wet, so we opted to ride Flash out on the road with
two experienced horses.

I mounted Flash inside the arena. And of course, he stood nicely still while
I got on and waited a little before I asked him to walk off. Then we walked
around the arena and out the front gate.

The other horses led out and Flash walked along happily, enjoying the view.
He strolled up alongside the lead horse and past him when asked to. We
walked down to the first bridge and back.

Flash seemed to enjoy his little outing and I certainly enjoyed riding him.
Each time I ride him, he is more confident and balanced.
