Journaled 23rd January, 2001.

Hi Christie and Matthew,

It's HOT here... 47 degrees in the house, according to my thermometer. I've
just eaten 9 water iceblocks and am starting to feel a little less overheated.

Flash is fine. HE'S standing in a nice cool gully in the holding
paddock. I didn't work him this morning, because it was soooo hot and I had a
lesson and ride. I didn't want to work him in the heat, so instead I wormed
him early, before it heated up,  handled him a little and let him go.

This evening I'll work him on the lunge again. He is getting on well
with Joey, the two are happy standing together in the shade.

I have people arriving for the gymkhana (tomorrow) this afternoon and
a pony ride, so I'll work Flash fairly late, to try and beat the heat with him.
